Will there be a 70 mm version too?
yes - we have some new shorter versions coming later in the summer of 2024.
What a well documented and engendered product, I was impressed before even riding it. That’s what you get when you deal with cyclists! 😊
Thanks so much for the kind words - hope you really enjoy the stem!
You guys had your design team build this, but we the people have been waiting a while now for the pro stems under 80mm. What is going on????
Appreciate the feedback - we have many products that have been in the works for a while and we are always working on multiple things at the same time but sometimes design and manufacturing takes longer on certain products. All that being said, we are just finishing up production on shorter stems so stay tuned
dropper droppper dropper
thanks for the feedback - definitely something we are looking at for the future. thanks
It's taken 11 years for these to go mainstream.
Nice! Going to keep being a broken record though, please come out with the dropper post you teased in 2020!
Thanks for the feedback! I'll pass it along to the engineers :)
Why tape the cables to the handlebar first and not the other way around? Now, the grips and the tape attaching them to the bars gets on your way when replacing the cables in the future. Any problems with doing this process without cables and then taping the cables to bars afterwards? Thanks in advance
Thanks for the question and you are certainly correct that securing the grip prior to the cables could be a useful way to allow you to adjust cables in the future without having to touch the grips. There is no reason you can't do it this way. Thanks
Too wide for me , prefer 41/42cm and less flare. Are you planning to make a smaller one?
You are in luck! we have a 41cm in both a 25 deg and a 10 deg flare coming in the fall so stay tuned :)
Is this video also accurate for the new « Pro endurance » seatpost?
Hi @patgregoire1 - this video is pretty accurate for the new PRO Endurance post. Since it uses the same pre-load adjustment as the Endurance post all of that is the same. The only real difference from a user standpoint is what is inside the post and what one might swap in and out in terms of springs and elastomers - but the detailed info on that can be found in the paper instructions. If you have any specific questions or need any help you can always email us at support@redshiftsports.com - Thanks
Thanks for this informative video. I have to mention, however, that the looping music is too distracting during a technical description. Just so you know. Excited to install your tech on my bike tomorrow. Thanks for innovating.
thanks for the feedback - much appreciated and hope you enjoy the stem.
What a great product
Thanks - glad you like it
Hope i win this is my dream bike.. we have a group of bikers here in Regina.. We go on every week on our dayoffs hopefully i will rock with this one🙏
It‘s perfect for bikepacking trips
glad you like it! And bikepacking is definitely one of the great use cases
Looks awesome 😊
Is it possible to use the top grips with aero shaped bars as well or do you need round shaped bars?
The grips are specifically designed to fit on 23.8mm round bar which is the standard diameter for round drop bars. They will fit on an aero handlebar section if the front side of it is 23.8mm and circular but if it is not shaped like a circle on the front where contact would be made them the fit might not be that great. Thanks
Anyone sell them in the UK?
Hi @owlinthewood - we sell direct to folks in the UK (and also the EU for that matter). We keep inventory in the UK (and EU) so shipping is free and fast and we offer free returns and exchanges for 90 days after receiving any of our products. You can purchase right here: redshiftsports.com/products/top-shelf-handlebar-system - and if you have any question feel free to reach out to us at support@redshiftsports.com - thanks
This look so wicked. I love innovative, minimal products like this.
Thanks so much and really glad you like them!
Took mine to the bikefit - it was never this easy to dial in a comfortable position! For this time I could have the options of raising the bar bene more for touring or lowering it for spirited gravel rides!
So happy to hear that!
The bolt that secures the wedge comes with a small silver screw do you need to fix it with the large black bolt that comes with the pack ?? Many thanks
Hi there - I am guessing you have the 80mm version which includes a 2nd tool for installing the wedge - this tool is used to seat the wedge in place and then it is secured with the silver bolt and the install tool is removed. If you visit our website you can find instructions and videos for the 80mm version (there is also a link at the beginning of this video). And if you have any questions you can always email us at support@redshiftsports.com
@@Redshiftsports many thanks 👍👍 do you do a spare silver bolt for the 80mm stem ?
@@addiecusack1530 yes, please email us at support@redshiftsports.com and we can help you with that and any other spare parts you might need. Thanks!
@@Redshiftsports you guys have been brilliant . Your service is outstanding well done to all involved 👍👍
So glad to hear that it worked out! Thanks so much for the kind words!
would be rad to have these with the sink
I assume you mean the kitchen sink loop - thanks so much for the great feedback and something for us to think about for the future.
I just don’t understand how they didn’t make it in a 42mm like 42/46 are way more common than 44…
Hi Matty - thanks for checking it out. With out handebars we try to cover a pretty wide range of widths so we use 3mm increments with 50mm as the first point and then we went by 3s and that is how we ended up with 44, 47, 50, and 53. Hope that helps.
I agree 42 is the sweet spot for the vast majority of riders. I’d buy these but 44 is just too wide
@@Redshiftsports Sorry but this did not really explain why you opted to not offer a 41cm version (if you want to stick to your increments).. also a less extreme flare variant would be much appreciated! If it wasn’t for those over the top design choices I’d have bought two already
@@rebootyourmind Thanks for asking for clarification - you are right that I didn't actually explain why we stopped at 44cm. The Top Shelf was made to match up with our kitchen sink handlebar that was primarily designed for gravel and primarily designed as a "wide" bar for gravel bikes and when we developed it we wanted to emphasize that it was a wide bar so we stopped at 44cm to be slightly differentiated from other gravel bars. But, we have had so much feedback from folks who are interested in less width on the top shelf that we are going to add the 41cm version as well as doing all the widths in a less flared 10 deg variant as well. So, stay tuned for those version and thanks for adding your voice!

Just bought one 👍
Nice! Hope you love it!
Genius idea
Glad you like it!
This is perfect for all the Canyon Grails v7 with the Doppeldecker handlebar! Could you pls think about a 90mm raise as well?
Hell yeah
Thanks! Glad you like it!
Very cool idea. Don't forget to get a bikefit after mounting one of these.
And a bike.
Glad you like it and great advice - hopefully this will help some folks who already have a fit and are having to do a lot of extreme stuff to get the reach and rise setup properly. Thanks.
2:05 in instructions it is TOTALLY DIFFERENT
That is correct @user-gm8ll5hs4x - this video was made 4 years ago but we updated the guidance on springs and tuning more recently to try to make it a bit more clear. Also, if you have a PRO seatpost then the whole setup is completely different you can check out website for the most up to date videos: redshiftsports.com/pages/faq-instructions - thanks
U skip the elastomer bracket removal part
Hi @shaifulothman7442 - if you go to 6:37 in the video you will see the discussion on removing the preload wedge. Please note that for newer stems the bolt is a torx not a hex and you can see this in the instructions that came with your stem. Hope that helps but if you have any additional questions you can email us at support@redshiftsports.com - thanks
Are these safe for carbon bars ?
Yes - as long as your handlebar is "clip on compatible" then these are safe for your bar. Usually carbon bars will say if clip on aerobars are okay to use which is an indication that the area near the stem clamp has been sufficiently reinforced. And if it is not indicated you can contact the manufacturer and they will know what you are talking about. Hope that helps!
Just bought mine. I have a multiple ruptured tendons in shoulder & hope this will help to remove the vibrations in our poorly maintained roads. Good video
Hi there, 2 questions: 1: In the video the elastomers are below the preload wedge at first. Referring to the manual, the elastomers need to be always above the preload wedge, regarding if the stem is mounted in +/- 6° - super confusing. 2: Out of factory, the elestomers/stem is shipped in +6° for a rider weight between 135-155lbs, if that fits for me, is it save to just install the stem without touching the preload wedge/bolt/elastomers? Thanks and thanks for the great product!
You are correct that the elastomers always need to be in the top - and good eyes noticing they were on the bottom at first - that was because we installed in the -6 deg and needed to swap them from default. The stem is ready to ride out of the box and we actually recommend everyone give it a try if they want the +6 deg orientation and see how it feels and then adjust from there. Thanks
@@Redshiftsports Thanks for the fast reply - after rewatching the video and listing carefully, i noticed why it was kinda "flipped" first. Had my first ride yesterday and it was a blast! Cheers
@@honkx so glad the stem is feeling good!
What phone mount is that?
great question - I actually don't know but you can message @ilgravel on instagram and I am sure they would be happy to share that info. Thanks
It’s a Stem cap mount from Ali express
@@wilsonl9397 Thanks mate.
I'm looking forward to building this up on my roadbike I'm setting up as a daily driver/weekend warrior/sometimes gravel grinding on rural Iowa roads. Though in your video, I'm trying to figure out why they are using gravel bikes where mountain bikes would be more appropriate??
hi @stormlaker - hope you enjoy all the products on your road bike. in this video we are showing the versatility of a gravel bike which is why you see it being used on a variety of terrain. thanks
USB-C?
Currently just USB!
Thanks for the quick reply. Any current plans for USB-C in the future?@@Redshiftsports
Our pleasure @@anywhereroam9698 - we are considering USB-C for the future but its not currently in any near term design updates. But thanks for the feedback.
hoping to win😅
It’s not a 3mm Allen wrench but a 2.5 torx for elastomer. Almost drove me to drink. Well after all done I notice the included torx wrench, lol. Still the video is wrong saying 3mm.
Hello - you are right and sorry for any confusion. We made a change to a torx bolt a couple years ago which is a while after this video was put up. All the best!
Hey it’s all good. Love the product. Ordered a second one for another bike. Just curious why you switched to torx from 3mm. Seems a thing now. Liked it better when all bike stuff was hex.
@@sdanjohn glad you are loving the product and ordered a 2nd one! The switch to torx was actually just practical - we were trying to do as much as we could to ensure that it was hard to strip the internal wedge bolt - on the whole hex is a little easier to strip so we made the change and included a tool to make sure everyone had the right one. Thanks again for the feedback
Very good installation clip, the stem sure works well for shock absorbtion.
@littlefish4270 glad you found the video helpful and very happy that the stem is working so well for you.
I want to buy those on next Wednesday
Would this stem be suiteable on a Jones H loop bar?
Yes - you can absolutely use the stem with a jones H bar. The one thing to keep in mind is that the stem will be a lot less active when your hands are in the close grips since that position can be close to the pivot point on the stem but when the hands are on the other positions you will get an active suspension. Thanks
They have changed the stem, this did not help.
Sorry that you had trouble with these instructions. We added an 80mm version that has a different elastomer install and removal process but that video is linked inside this one so sorry that you did not see that. Here it is: ruclips.net/video/TRIt8zyUYvY/видео.html
Do they come with a 52T ratchet ?
Nice clear video. But, to be honest, fitting one of these is super easy. I have the original model with the springs and it's been fantastic. The Pro model is a little lighter, but I think the springs (rather than elastomers) are easier to fine tune to my weight and riding style. It doesn't bob. Just soaks up the road buzz and takes the edge of the bigger bumps. I didn't notice how much of a difference it made until I removed the ShockStop post when I was changing saddles and went back to a rigid post. The difference is very noticeable.
Thanks Brain - so glad you are enjoying your seatpost!
I Got mine, it's just amazing 💥🚀💥🚀
